Ramlee was not only an actor, but he was also a singer, songwriter, screenwriter and film director — a rare accomplishment in his time. His works too, have had us crying and laughing more than once, and it was through his films that we were able to look into his mind, although no one could really answer the question why this man was so good at what he did. As his career soared, Ramlee’s personal life was not spared from public scrutiny. Not many know this but Ramlee spent the last years of his life neglected by the very people who had once adored him. His downfall was painful to watch, especially to his close friends and family members…
